Pin Trading

I decided that for this trip it may be fun for us to participate in some Disney pin trading with cast members while in the parks, and Downtown Disney.

There were a couple problems, though. Firstly, I knew nothing about the rules of said trading, secondly, the only pins we have are a few years old and pretty special. Not to mention, at nine-something a pop it becomes a pretty costly activity, especially since the cast member's mostly have 'cast member' pins (to my knowledge).

To solve my first problem I went to the very helpful Disney Pin Trading site which did a great job explaining what I needed to know (and a lot more). The second problem was easily solved on ebay, where I was able to buy 20 pins for a pretty low price. Hopefully 20 pins will be sufficient!

Vacation Details

While I LOVE planning vacations, especially Disney vacations, I tend to get a little obsessed. I think that to have a vacation with a lot of different reservations and activities, not to mention multiple theme parks, it has to be planned out as well as possible in advance for everything to go perfectly. I am sure that some families could have a wonderful time in Disney World with nothing more planned than where they are going to sleep at night, I, on the other hand, would probably have a heart attack and die if I attempted such folly.

Here is an example of my basic day calendar for our trip. I've taken out some personal info and reservation #s for obvious reasons. Colors on the left coincide with the best and worst park crowds of the day. Thanks again to touringplans.com and all my very helpful friends on WDW Lines.

Oh! As I have learned it is important to double, and triple check park times before you leave when coming up with a schedule. I first made our plans a couple months ago, and when I checked on park times yesterday NINE park times had been extended. We would have of course found that out when we got there, but like I've said, I like to know as much as possible ahead of time! Park times can be found here and are updated frequently.

Por favor mantengase alejado de las puetas!

Just a few weeks until I leave with my mom and sister for a girls' vacation to Disney World. I'm preparing myself by listening to mouseworldradio.com (right now it is playing the monorail track, thus the title of this post). I already have my day-by-day schedule printed out and color coded thanks to touringplans.com!

The purpose of this blog will be to both document our TEN day vacation, as well as to give my reviews on some of the less typical Disney vacation activities we'll be doing. I've been to Disney world a few times, but this will be the first time I will be taking part in any special tours, so I am extremely excited. I hope that by blogging some of my thoughts on what we do will help others in their planning.
